Wales’ top workplace learners have been recognised for their resilience and hard work in developing themselves professionally at a special event held by Portal Training.
Staff working in education, sport and business won praise for pursuing a range of professional qualifications alongside their day-to-day roles at a ceremony in St David’s Hotel, Cardiff.
Hosted by BBC Wales’ Eleri Sion, the awards honoured those who have successfully gained new qualifications in leadership and management through Portal Training.
We are delighted to announce that Portal is now an accredited Living Wage Employer! This means that every member of staff working for Portal will earn a real Living Wage, as a minimum.
The real Living Wage is higher than the government’s minimum, or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual cost of living.
It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week. It is currently £9.00 in the UK, with a higher rate of £10.55 for London, reflecting the higher costs of living in the capital.
We are delighted to share the news that our friend and colleague Gwenno has raised a fantastic £542.40 for Portal’s chosen charity, Mind!
She smashed 271% of her original target of £200 by running the Madrid Marathon recently!
Mind is a fantastic mental health charity who won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect. We at Portal are hugely proud to support this charity.
