ABOUT US

OUR VISION

Portal is the leading Welsh organisation working in partnership to raise educational achievement by delivering high quality and creative training resources.

Portal is a dynamic and innovative bilingual training consultancy. We offer consultancy packages focusing on improving learning environments, curriculum development and bespoke project management. Our courses are delivered by some of the best practitioners in Wales and we are proud of our sector-leading team. We specialise in delivering relevant, bilingual INSET and open course provision to those working at all levels in educational establishments.

We deliver the ILM, Institute of Leadership and Management, level 4 and 5 diploma qualifications in Leadership and Management.  Currently, there are over 300 learners/teachers following these 2 programmes who are aspiring to further develop their management and leadership skills and assist in their quest for promotion.

Portal’s most recent development is the Subject Leader’s Network (SLN). The SLN is currently working across the following subject areas – History, Science, MFL and Welsh 2nd Language with the aim to support teachers in these areas by holding bespoke training events. Hopefully, we can expand on the subject areas and offer a greater range of subject specialist training delivered by those currently in classrooms.

We have written and designed a resource called SWEET, which is a BTEC Personal and Social Development qualification at level 1 and 2 award and certificate for Key Stage 4 pupils.  It can be delivered during the PSE allocated lessons, BTEC options choices as a tool to motivate those who are disengaged in the school environment and to offer a resource to assist with the delivery of the new Welsh Baccalaureate.
